En Hakkore
Look back and trace your journey to where you stand in your spiritual Map today! This is a season of spiritual landings and if you have been relying on a particular source of strength and the source seems to be diffusing out, let’s call out now! En-Hakkore –The fountain of the one who cried out!
Samson defeated the philistines with a Jawbone-a source of strength. This strength was sufficient to defeat thousands of philistines. Judges 15:15 “And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. However this was a materialistic strength and it lasted only for a handful (A thousand) to be counted”. His body gave way and left him feeble after the defeat because the strength that he relied on was materialistic “a dry Jawbone”! This arouses our curiosity us to look what he did next.
His next step was to find out the right source of strength. This involved a crucial step which was to “cast away the dry Jawbone Judges 15:17 It came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi. After Samson cast away the dry bone, his immediate voluntary action was a sense of thirst! He was thirsty and cried out! At this Juncture, I would like us to recall out temporary source of strength which we have used in the past for a certain number of wars. It’s time to cast them away!!! Once you cast away your materials of temporary strength you attract divine strength”. The caution here is to understand that “spiritual wars need spiritual water”. The casting away of the Jawbone quickened his senses to thirst. This thirst in the physical divulges into the spiritual realm and made Samson cry out! Defeating the Philistines was in the physical realm, but regaining and revival of strength was in the Spiritual realm. The strength lost in the physical is revived through drinking from the eternal spring. Vs 18 and he was sore athirst, and called on the Lord, and said, though hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised.
As soon as Samson turned to God and cried out form his heart for life! God heard him there and vs: 19, God clave a hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water there out; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof En-hakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.
